The 2023 Lanka Premier League (LPL) is the fourth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL), a Twenty20 franchise cricket tournament in Sri Lanka. The LPL was founded in 2020 and is organized by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). The league features five teams, each representing a city or region in Sri Lanka. The Colombo Strikers are based in Colombo, the Western Province. They are the newest team in the LPL, having made their debut in the 2023 season. Their home ground is the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
The Dambulla Aura are based in Dambulla, the Central Province. They made their debut in the 2022 LPL. Their home ground is the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.
The Galle Titans are based in Galle, the Southern Province. They are the defending champions, having won the 2022 LPL. Their home ground is the Galle International Stadium.
The Jaffna Kings are based in Jaffna, the Northern Province. They are the most successful team in LPL history, having won the tournament in 2021 and 2022. Their home ground is the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, India.
The Kandy Falcons are based in Kandy, the Central Province. They are the newest team in the LPL, having made their debut in the 2023 season. Their home ground is the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
The 2023 LPL is expected to be a competitive tournament, with all five teams having a chance to win. The defending champions, Galle Titans, will be the favourites, but the Jaffna Kings and Colombo Strikers will be strong contenders as well. The Dambulla Aura and Kandy Falcons are the two new teams in the tournament, but they will be looking to make an impact.
